Poetry in a Pandemic
The sky will rest for planes can be grounded
Cruises are avoided or on the ocean stranded
Checks stop coming, yet bills never stop travel
Shelter in place so the virus cannot cover like gravel
A chance to reassess our lives on autopilot
This global timeout to focus and make a pivot
Spring comes with freshness, light, and growth
Inhale, relax, and envision the post-pandemic sprout
"Am I losing my mind?"
"When was the last time
I truly enjoyed myself?
Everything is just blah..."
"How do I stop thinking
and get some sleep?"
"I am so stressed!"
"If only I could focus and get this done!"
"I really need to burn off that burger I had for lunch."
